ZZ Top To Be Honored At Mississippi’s Delta Blues Museum
Legendary rock band ZZ Top will be honored at Mississippi’s Delta Blues Museum at a new fundraising event.
The Delta Blues Museum will kick off a new fundraising event series next month honoring musicians influenced by the Blues, demonstrating the power of Blues music and how it lives on in other genres.
The first “Crossroads Connection” will take place on April 9, 2025, as part of the museum’s annual Muddy Waters Month celebration with ZZ top frontman Billy Gibbons as special guest.
“On hand will be other local and state dignitaries to help us thank Mr. Gibbons for his long-time support of the Museum and the music and culture of the Mississippi Delta,” the organizers said.
A free public event will be hosted at 2 pm featuring performances by the DBM Student Band along with Gibbons, who will play the legendary Muddywood for the occasion.
It will be followed by a private, ticketed event featuring an intimate panel discussion and conversation with Gibbons, led by Delta Blues Ambassador and Blues legend Charlie Musselwhite. The discussion will focus on Muddy Waters‘ influence on Gibbons’ life and musical career. A private reception will be held in the Museum Gallery, where guests will have a chance to meet the rock-and-roll icon and pose for a photo with him.
Tickets are available to purchase here.
