Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
Have fun with the list below, enjoy the artists/music and…
JJ Lovegrove was a day 1 artist add to my playlist, and has been a mainstay since. We’d communicated casually over Twitter, but the opportunity to talk to her directly about her new release led to the second Z-GR! Radio Take 5 Episode.
Clearly, JJ’s new EP, ‘Unravelled: The Elegies’ was a challenging undertaking, and it was great to hear the details!
Of course, we’ve got the first single off of the EP, ‘Foolish Things’ on the show this week!

JJ Lovegrove’s Take 5 Interview
Philadelphia’s Catherine Moan was first featured way back on Episode two of Z-GR! Radio with ‘Soda Pop’, which is still a favorite of mine – this time around, I’m going with 2021’s ‘Fools’, which is also awesome and leads her stream count…make sure you check out her twitch account under the username CATHMOAN.
Sterno is Norwegian duo Ruben Gentekos and Tyra Rachel Torp-Bangsund whoi have their musical fingers in multiple projects across multiple genres, including black/metal viking metal and ambient world music. Of course, I’m super stoked that they dropped some excellent retro-electronica like ‘Echoes’.
Zero-G Racetrack’s most popular song ‘I Think You’re Beautiful’ was re-released as a 6 track EP in December of 2022 and collectively, the song has hit the 85k mark as of now. Interestingly, it’s the radio Instrumental version that got picked up by Spotify’s Autoplay, and it’s leading all versions in stream count. The art used for the cover was the catalyst for the cover art style we’ve used throughout the first wave of singles, and continues to be a fan favorite.

Ama Waves, a Synthpop project led by French singer-songwriter Julie Thuillier first featured on Episode 15 with ‘All Your Faces’ and I decided that it’s about time we heard it again – she’s got a bunch of cool tracks and it’s worth taking the minutes to check her library out.
The Interstate is made up of Producers Jared Logan and David May – they have frustratingly little info out there on the socials, but I do know that Jared has a studio in Kansas City and works with a bunch of cool artists. I really like this track ‘Don’t Hang Up the Phone’ and they have some other great stuff ,so make sure you check them out.
I came across the solo work of Annette Gil, and that led me to her current project with Mattias Hellberg and Ole Tom Torjussen. Collectively, they call themselves Pink Nun, and they’ve released some very cool tracks in 2024 – ‘Quirky Time’ is the first, ‘Pink Moon Decay’ is their latest, and I’m really looking forward to what they bring next.
Yeah, I suppose that ‘Made In Taiwan’ might not be the most PC track out there, but it has a wicked great vibe and besides, Ocean of Lotion is never afraid to tell a trippy story. I had them on Episode 12 and they got a great response – if you haven’t, check out their live video as it’s super cool – the link can be found on the wrap-up page at newhdradio.com/zgr30.

I’m a big JJ Lovegrove fan, and when I saw that she was about to release a new EP, I figured it was the perfect excuse to do a face to face interview. She and I have swapped text back and forth on the socials, but it was really cool to have an extended conversation with her, and we chatted about all sorts of cool stuff including the details on her current release, what went into it, and what makes her make the art that she makes. The first single off of the EP is ‘Foolish Things’.
JJ is our newest NEWHD Featured Artist, and you can find links to her Take 5 interview and information on her new release ‘Unravelled: The Eligies’ at newhdradio.com/JJLG.
