Week 15 - June 7, 2024
EPISODE 15 of Z-GR! Radio
Z-GR! Radio overview right from your Host:
- My name is Scot Apathy – I’m the lead singer for Zero-G Racetrack, and I curate the ‘Floating Around the Racetrack’ Spotify/YouTube playlist. It’s not a pay for play list; I personally choose what’s on it based on what I hear. True story.
- For Z-GR! Radio, I pull from tracks/artists on the playlist (current and archived) and include newer finds that might not be on the list yet (but likely will be).
- The artists included come from myriad genres, geographical locations and stage of growth. I stay away from mainstream established artists, but I will play artists that I’ve followed as they grow. I love it when emerging artists gain traction, and I like to celebrate it.
- I include a cover song each week, and highly recommend checking out MetroVeteran’s (Ruel Smith) ‘Synthwave Covers’ Spotify playlist. There are 900+ great tracks on that list.
- I post a page like this each week to help you find out more about the artists you heard on this week’s show and to make it easy to do so.
- I’m working with NEWHD on a Featured Artist program, and I’ll note those artists as they appear.
Have fun with the list below, enjoy the artists/music and…
PLEASE share the page out on your Socials!
Dust Breaks
Vijay Jayant, AKA Dust Breaks, came to my attention through his collaborations with House of Asha, and I really like the energy he brings to his music. I asked him a few weeks back if he’d like to be on the show and it turns out the timing aligns perfectly with his upcoming June 15 show in Redwood City, California.
Digging through his catalog revealed a wide range of sounds and made me appreciate his appearance on the show even more – it’s worth taking some time to check his stuff out, for sure.

Z-GR! Radio Episode Fifteen Lineup
Bec Sandridge - Stranger
Fulvio Colasanto / LAU / Bunny X / Syntronix - Electrified
‘Electrified’ is an all-star joint that brings together not one, not two but three Z-GR! Radio artists together and throws in playlist favorite Syntronix for good measure and the result is fantastic – Fulvio Colasanto is one of my favorite producers, LAU has been on the show twice with one of my favorite SynthPop songs, and it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of NYC’s Bunny X who are back on the show after far too long.

Billy Mick - Flesh and Bone
It’s Pride Month 2024 and Billy Mick is definitely out and proud – I think that ‘Flesh and Bone’ is just what the world needs to hear and embrace. From all of us at NEWHD, where inclusivity is in our mission statement – have a great Pride Month, friends.
Alanas Chonsau / Mark Reeder - All You Need To Love
That was ‘All You Need To Love’ – I had a Alanas Chosnau and Mark Reeder joint on Episode 5, and I liked it so much that I thought a Round 2 was in order – their 2022 album ‘Life Everywhere’ is awesome, so check it when you get a chance.

Beborn Beton - Dancer In the Dark - Piston Damp Remix
German artists Beborn Beton have been around since 1989 but set their feet and their sound in 1999 – they’ve worked with and toured with Apoptigma Berzerk (awesome) and after a long hiatus released their 2023 album Darkness Falls Again and with it came our next track ‘Dancer in the Dark’ – the remix by Piston Damp cranks up the dance vibe and you’re hearing it here on NEWHD Rock Evolution.

Eva X - Whipping Girl
I‘ve been a fan of Vancouver’s Eva X since late 2021 – self described as a rogue industrial pop robot, Eva X releases fantastic remixes of most of her fantastic tracks, but in this case I went with the album version of ‘Whipping Girl’ the opener of 2022’s ‘I Dream of Reality’. She’s on the road – you can catch her in Seattle June 25th and 28th and then she heads to Dallas July 19th.

Zero-G Racetrack - I Think You're Beautiful - Radio Edit
Pop Noir - Santa Ana
Dust Breaks / House of Asha - Dive
This week’s VO beds are awesome and they’re coming in from Silicon Valley Dj and Producer Vijay, AKA Dust Breaks, and after spending some time with his library, I knew that he’d be perfect for a guest spot. I met him through his work with House of Asha – they were on Episode 7 – together, they’ve released some really fantastic tracks.

Dqtr Shine / Nathan Fox - Paint It Black (Rolling Stones Cover)
Everyone plays a Rolling Stones song at some point, but when they get it right, it’s worth taking notice. This is a joint between Doctor Shine and Nathan Fox playing one of my favorite Stones Songs, ‘Paint It Black’, and it’s awesome.
