In under a year since a horrific van accident changed their lives forever, Year Of The Knife have had their first proper rehearsal back. While on tour in Salt Lake City, UT last June, the group’s van collided with the back of a semi-trailer truck, leaving 3/4th of the outfit with considerable injury.
Drummer Andrew Kisielewski broke both of his ankles. His brother, guitarist Aaron Kisielewski, was left with a lacerated carotid right artery and a broken femur. Bassist/guitarist Brandon Watkins Suffered a concussion and multiple contusions.
Vocalist Madi Watkins incurred the most severe injuries in the accident, being left with serious brain trauma along with a broken jaw on both sides and a broken femur, pelvis & ankle, plus a fractured tibia. She would go on to require numerous surgeries and months of physical, cognitive and speech therapy.
Since being discharged last September, Madi and her bandmates have returned to the stage with their side project Damnations Domain.
Per posts shared this week by Brandon, the group’s first full-fledged practice since that accident took place yesterday, March 29th and was a “huge success.”
