Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson is believed to have played a significant role in the North Carolina Tar Heels not appearing on HBO’s Hard Knocks – with the production company revealed to have been the party to have backed out.
UNC initially agreed to be on the show with Hard Knocks moving to cover a college football team for the first time with legendary NFL head coach Belichick moving to the school this year. Belichick, who’s girlfriend recently turned heads with ‘weird’ actions at UNC practice, had never been a fan of Hard Knocks or letting cameras have too much access to his team, but is said to have been happy for HBO to come in and document a five-episode series on their preseason.
However, talks broke down just days before pre-production with Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Hudson, getting involved while she requested to be included in the project, The Athletic reported. The revelation comes with UNC staff said to be ‘concerned’ about Hudson after she shut down a relationship question in an awkward Belichick interview.

NFL Films had been set to begin filming with North Carolina from March 1 as part of a two-month schedule on the school’s campus, getting a look at behind-the-scenes footage of Belichick’s first season in college football. The documentary would have landed the school around $200,000 in facilities fees, but Hudson’s involvement is reported to have seen negotiations break down.
NFL’s vice president for commercial operations and business affairs, Jessica Boddy, had said that UNC’s counsel confirming that they “will not proceed with the production of the Belichick project” after “the conversation took a turn we were not comfortable with.”
Initially, Belichick had seemed to be all-in on the docuseries, with his close friend and general manager in Michael Lombardi explaining their thought process.

Speaking to Pat McAfee on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Lombardi said: “It would have been great. The problem was, we control the story we need to tell here. And the story we want to tell doesn’t end after we play TCU, the story we want to tell is a story about how we’re rebuilding this program. How we’re going to honor the great players who have come before us. How we’re going to restore Tar Heel football and make this stadium come alive on Saturday afternoons like a lot of other schools in the ACC.
He added: “That’s the story we want to tell. And when it stops on after the first game like on Hard Knocks does, it doesn’t really do us any good to tell that story. And that really was the concern we all had here in the building was, we’re all storytellers. When you let them into your building we’re going to tell a story.

“And the story we wanted to tell was about how we’re working to build this program and we’re going to work hard to recruit and do all that. And that extends into September, October, November. It can’t stop at Labor Day. That was more the issue.”
Hudson is reported to have been included in all emails and relations with Belichick since he moved to North Carolina, with her even leaking an email from an NFL legend this week. Last week, Belichick appeared on a CBS interview with Hudson sitting in and essentially acting like his PR manager, cutting in on questions and demanded they not be asked.
