Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift left fans gobsmacked as they popped into a bustling New Orleans eatery ahead of Super Bowl LIX, and the details of their meal have now been disclosed.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end and his pop star girlfriend dined at Lilette, a top-rated French and Italian-themed restaurant on Magazine Street in New Orleans, less than 48 hours before the Chiefs were dealt a shocking defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome.
The pair joined Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany for dinner at what’s been dubbed “the sexiest restaurant in town,” described in one review as being “filled with attractive young couples stealing the odd smooch on creamy banquettes.”
Swift opted for a classic burger and chips, while Kelce went for the $37 hangar steak with fries and marrowed bordelaise. According to the Daily Mail, the couple also shared a dish, splitting Lilette’s signature Louisiana crab claws with passion fruit butter.
“They were very normal and had a complete blast,” an insider revealed. “[They were in a] tremendously good mood [and they] anticipated a different outcome and result in the game.”
Kansas City was aiming for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl victory on Sunday, but they were no match for the Eagles, who dominated the game early on with their stifling defence. Jalen Hurts then found his rhythm in the passing game, leading Philly to an impressive 40-22 win.
The future of Kelce, a four-time All-Pro, has been speculated once more following Sunday’s letdown, with fans and pundits alike speculating whether he should hang up his cleats. Addressing the rumours on his ‘New Heights’ podcast on Wednesday, the potential Hall of Famer remarked: “I know everybody wants to know whether I am playing next year, and right now, I am just kicking everything down the road. I am kicking every can I can down the road.

“I am not making any crazy decisions, but right now, the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing. I’ve been fortunate over the past five, six years, I’ve played more football than anybody.”
“The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body.”
“It’s a lot of time in the building… that process can be grueling. It can weigh on you. It can make you better and it can drive you crazy. Right now, it was one of those things where it was driving me crazy this year. It happens as you tail off towards the back nine of your career.”
