TK from Ling tosite sigure has been confirmed as the artist responsible for the opening song of the seventh season of the popular TV anime “My Hero Academia.” The announcement was made on Twitter following the initial announcement at the ANI-ROCK FES. 2024 My Hero Academia Plus Ultra Live concert in Yokohama on February 25.
Although details such as the name of the new song have not been released yet, fans can expect it to be revealed soon as the new anime season is set to start on May 4.
In a statement, TK expressed his thoughts on creating music for the animation. He mentioned that despite feeling like he lacks personality and talent, he aims to depict something meaningful through his music. The theme of the song came to him when he saw a soap bubble reflecting rainbow colors before disappearing, leaving its shape on the concrete. He hopes to capture the essence of battles fought for oneself or others and engrave the brightness that shines through a torn world in this song.
Despite his seemingly self-deprecating tone, TK is known for creating popular anime theme songs such as “unravel” from Tokyo Ghoul, “Signal” from 91 Days, and “first death” from Chainsaw Man. Both music and anime enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating his latest release.
The My Hero Academia anime is produced by Studio Bones and is based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi. The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since July 2014. Before the new season premieres on May 4, a special four-episode recap titled “My Hero Academia Memories” will air in April.
