The renowned progressive rock ensemble The Flower Kings is set to unveil their 17th studio album titled LOVE on May 2nd, 2025. With 17 studio albums, numerous live recordings, and international festival performances spanning over 30 years, their impact on the progressive rock scene is unmistakable and continues to expand.
At this moment, the band is excited to present the single “Burning Both Edges,” the second track lifted from the album LOVE.

Roine Stolt elaborates on the new song: “’Burning Both Edges’ is yet another track from our album LOVE; We find ourselves in challenging times where ignorance and fear constantly seem to drive us towards conflict and war. LOVE has the power to transform everything, yet we keep choosing to destroy what we have. The world is indeed aflame in countless ways – east, west, high, low, and still we opt to follow leaders who are unworthy of leading. This song is a part of the whole, intended to be experienced in a sequence as part of the song-cycle that is our new album LOVE.”
The album showcases the three founding members—Roine Stolt, Hasse Fröberg, and Michael Stolt—alongside newer members Mirko DeMaio and Lalle Larsson. Together, they have created an album that captures the spirit of progressive rock from the late sixties and early seventies. This period was characterized by a shift away from pursuing hit singles toward embracing artistic freedom, featuring bell-bottoms, Mellotrons, Moogs, phasing, flanging, and grand compositions. The Flower Kings have consistently excelled at crafting songs that merge pop elements with experimental and jam band styles.
