Fans flooded the floor waiting for The Black Dahlia Murder to start. Their explosive energy was contagious, causing the pit to open up immediately and sending people soaring over the crowd’s heads. The night was started by Vomit Forth, AngelMaker and Dying Fetus. They performed songs off their new album, Servitude, which has been receiving rave reviews. Older music was also on the setlist, which brought cheers from everyone. With Trevor Strnad’s passing only being two years ago, there has been a lot of anticipation about the album and live shows. Their lineup change with founding member Brian Eschbach on vocals and returning bandmate Ryan Knight on guitar, the same intensity and passion are still there. Brian’s vocals are impressive, and he is so animated as a frontman. Everyone at The Novo were having the best time.
Dying Fetus are a tough act to follow. They are one of the best death metal acts around, and the audience begged for more. A mix of newer tunes and older favorites had everyone pumped. AngelMaker and Vomit Forth were absolutely killer. There wasn’t a dull moment the entire night. The venue just kept getting more packed as the night went on.
The Beg to Serve Tour 2024 is about halfway through and continuing on to the Southwest this week. They will conclude November 10th in Chicago with a show almost every day until then. Be sure to catch this ripper of a tour!
