Justin Fields’ participation in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ upcoming “Monday Night Football” showdown against the New York Giants hangs in the balance, much to the dismay of staunch supporter Terry Bradshaw – who has faced called to retire recently – upon hearing the update live on FOX. Bradshaw has been vocal in his criticism of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin for benching Fields in favour of Russell Wilson post-recovery from a calf injury sustained during training camp.
Although Fields had led the team to a 4-2 start, Wilson took over for the dominant victory against the New York Jets last week. With Monday’s matchup against the Giants looming, Wilson is set to receive more playing time as he regains his form, while Fields is uncertain to play due to a hamstring issue.
“Just got off the phone with Mike Tomlin. He said Justin Fields actually tweaked his hamstring late this week,” disclosed FOX NFL Sunday host Jay Glazer, with Bradshaw watching.
“Doesn’t think he’s going to be able to go tomorrow night. He’s not sure yet. Probably going to have to get an MRI after the game, so it’s going to be all Russell Wilson. But this was a game that they’re kind of hoping to use that two-headed quarterback duo out there, but not really going to be able to do it now because of the hamstring.”

In other news from the broadcast, Tom Brady’s controversial Josh Allen remark left FOX NFL Sunday viewers astonished, and Terry Bradshaw was caught on-screen singing a ‘voodoo’ tune with his drink undergoing scrutiny by Curt Menefee.
Internally, the choice of quarterback by Tomlin is receiving backing from both Fields and Wilson, with their influence being felt throughout the Steelers team. “Between Russ and Justin, they’ve always supported each other,” said Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward to Not Just Football, reports the Mirror US.
“The media and people outside the locker room have pitted these guys against each other. They’ve been very supporting of each other, and they’ve made the team the team.”
“That’s all that’s mattered, and I’m appreciative of it. It doesn’t bring any extra drama. They just come in for business and they both come in ready to perform.”
