Terry Bradshaw has opened up about his 48-pound weight loss and impressive body transformation, following a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has been a mainstay on our televisions for decades, winning four Super Bowls in the NFL before moving on to work in broadcast media. The veteran athlete has been a regular star on FOX NFL Sunday since the early 1990s, and has spent over 30 years working as an analyst for the network.
Thanks to his ever-present figure on TV, fans began to notice when his weight started to fluctuate over the last couple of years. Bradshaw’s weight seemed to balloon in 2023, as the now-76-year-old recently revealed the reason behind his growing figure.
Speaking to FOX 32 Chicago, the former NFL star admitted that his arthritis diagnosis caused him issues, due to the medication doctors put him on to ease the symptoms.
Bradshaw said: “I ended up getting rheumatoid arthritis and so they put me on steroids, and it took forever to find out what steroid worked. And so I put on so much weight and I got big and I just, I couldn’t get it off.”

From then, the FOX icon consulted with his wife Tammy – who has been married to him since 2014 – who found a way to help him shed the weight.
Bradshaw continued: “So Tammy got me started on one of those shots and I’ve been on this shot about a year now and I’ve lost 48 pounds.
“I’m doing it periodically now, I don’t stay on it now, I’m doing periodic because I’ve got it under control.”
It is likely that Bradshaw was referring to being put on an injection to help with his weight loss, but it is unclear what exactly he used, and how it helped alongside his diet.

But the ex-athlete isn’t done just yet; he is actually hoping to lose a further 20lbs, which would put him just above the 200-pound mark.
Bradshaw added: “But I’ve got 20 I want to lose. I’m hoping I’ll lose 20 more pounds in another year so that’ll put me down to around 208 which is where I should be.”
The FOX NFL Sunday star also revelled in his newly-found body transformation, noting: “It’s a good feeling, a really good feeling.
“As a psychiatrist or psychologist would tell you to tell your kids, ‘Aren’t you proud of yourself?’ – Yeah I am!”
