Terry Bradshaw has confessed his mixed feelings about Tom Brady joining the FOX Sports’ NFL team this year, expressing concern that Brady’s hefty contract could have future implications for him and colleague Howie Long.
Bradshaw (who recently suffered a major error on air) and Long, who are among the nation’s favourite analysts and have formed a comedic partnership on FOX, appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on Monday evening.
Brady is the latest former NFL player to become an analyst and has been given a massive 10-year, $375 million deal to call games, following in the footsteps of former Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks Troy Aikman and Tony Romo.
Bradshaw was asked about his thoughts on Brady joining them this past offseason, with Brady immediately becoming part of the A-team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

“I thought it was good… then I thought it was bad, because they won’t have any money to me and Howie,” Bradshaw quipped when asked about his reaction to Brady’s mega-money contract. However, he quickly clarified that he had nothing negative to say about Brady and was pleased to have the legendary quarterback on the team.
“It is what it is,” Bradshaw concluded, before Long chimed in: “It is jaw-dropping, but I have never counted anyone else’s money.”
Kimmel couldn’t resist making a joke about the contrasting personalities of Brady and Bradshaw, despite them playing the same position. Bradshaw responded with humor, saying: “You know, I feel like I am definitely proof that you can have a personality and be funny, silly and goofy – while going out on the field and getting things done.”
Bradshaw then touched upon the topic of Brady being hailed as the greatest of all time, expressing his reluctance to compare across different eras. He reminisced, “But back when I played, I was considered the GOAT and then [Joe] Montana came and he was the GOAT.”
The iconic former Steelers quarterback went on to draw comparisons between his own career, Montana’s and Brady’s, highlighting how he and Montana won four Super Bowls without any losses, whereas Brady, despite winning seven Super Bowls, lost three.
