FOX Sports legend Terry Bradshaw left his co-stars, including Michael Strahan, scratching their heads after he launched into a controversial rant during Super Bowl LIX – prompting fans to demand the veteran “retire” from broadcasting.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers star, who’s a four-time Super Bowl champ with a 14-year illustrious playing career, is no stranger to NFL glory, having bagged the Big Game’s MVP twice. Now a fixture on “FOX NFL Sunday” for over three decades, Bradshaw was there to dish out his signature analysis as the Philadelphia Eagles trounced the Kansas City Chiefs with a resounding 40-22 win at Super Bowl LIX.
But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Bradshaw, as one contentious comment sparked backlash from viewers. In a polarising discussion about fan reactions post-Super Bowl victory, Bradshaw recounted: “Then you win a Super Bowl and you go to the parade.
“And here’s what you hear at the parade: ‘Hey Bradshaw, hey boy! You better win this sucker again next year, you hillbilly or we’ll run your (expletive) out of here.’ So, don’t ever expect to satisfy them.”
Co-hosts Strahan, Curt Menefee, Howie Long, and Jimmy Johnson seemed utterly baffled by the broadcasting stalwart’s unexpected outburst, with their bewildered faces speaking volumes. Fans watching from home didn’t miss a beat either, with one calling for his retirement on social media.
“I love Terry but his retirement from NFL broadcasts is already a few years late,” one said. A second detractor also made their feelings known, as they joined the calls with a brutal response, saying: “Yeah I think he should retire now instead of in two years”.

Another unimpressed viewer added: “He’s not lying, if anything he’s understating his abysmal start in Pittsburgh and the equally awful way fans felt about it”.
At 76, Bradshaw has been open about his eventual departure from commentary, aiming to stick with FOX Sports until the network next hosts the Super Bowl in 2029. In moments preceding Super Bowl LIX at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome, Bradshaw shared: “I told my wife before I left the room a while ago.
“I was sitting there and I got two years left at Fox. I’m 76. It’s a young man’s game, I get that. Everybody wants the new thing. So I said if we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. I think that’s time and that’s 80 years old and that’s pushing it”.
