A piece of metalcore history from the Sacramento, CA scene will soon be unearthed. The debut release from SOCK, “3243“, will be arriving on May 17th through Minus Head Records. Recorded in June of 1995, that group united future Will Haven members Grady Avenell (vocals) and drummer Jeff Irwin, with guitarist Shaun Lopez (later of Far, Crosses, etc.) and bassist Adam Federico.
“Porch Club” is the first track to be served up from this re-release, with Irwin stating of it:
“‘Porch Club‘ is one of my personal favorite tracks; one of the earlier ones we wrote. The song title was named after sitting on our porch; the whole band lived together for years in this big house, and we would spend most of it on the porch just kicking it with all the homies, and that is where we came up with the name SOCK.”
Pre-orders are available now through Bandcamp.
