Selena Gomez is honoring her long-time companion Taylor Swift on her recent achievement.
On Friday (May 30), the founder of Rare Beauty demonstrated her endorsement for Swift after the pop icon announced she had officially secured the rights to her master recordings for her initial six albums.
“YES YOU DID THAT TAY!!!” Gomez exclaimed in uppercase on her Instagram Story. “SO proud!”
Swift shared the news earlier in the day by uploading images of herself with the covers of her first six albums on Instagram, directing fans to a heartfelt note on her website. In the detailed message, the 14-time Grammy recipient contemplated the emotional journey of regaining her music.

“To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being quite modest,” she expressed. “To my fans, you know how significant this has been for me — so much so that I painstakingly re-recorded and distributed four of my albums, labeling them Taylor’s Version.”
“The fervent support you demonstrated for those albums and the success story you turned The Eras Tour into is what enabled me to reclaim my music,” the singer noted. “I can’t express enough gratitude for assisting in reuniting me with this art that I have committed my life to, but have never held ownership of until now.”
.swift procured the masters from the private equity firm Shamrock Capital for approximately $360 million, sources inform Billboard. This transaction comes six years after Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired her catalog from Big Machine’s Scott Borchetta in 2019, later selling his rights to Swift’s music to Shamrock in late 2020.
Regarding the pop superstar’s acquisition, Braun tells Billboard, “I am pleased for her.”
