One of the most famous names in NASCAR, Kyle Busch, is now also one of the oldest active drivers in the sport today.
It seems like yesterday when Busch was a young, hot-blooded talent who owned the track with his raw talent. However, the “Rowdy” has moved away from his hot-headed nature over the years and has adopted a much calmer demeanor.
When, he recently turned 40, Busch reminisced the good old days and opened up about his feelings on turning old. Although Busch is not the rambunctious soul that he once was, his humor is still sharp and bold. And when he faced the cameras recently, he proved it.
Kyle Busch Jokes About Turning 40 Years Old
Busch initially spoke about IVF treatment and National Infertility Awareness Week. His wife, Samantha Busch, has the couple’s firstborn son, Brexton via IVF treatment.
However, the couple went through a ton of complications while trying to conceive and undergoing the procedure. After a handful of mishaps, they finally welcomed their son in 2015.
Following this, they started a non-profit organization called the Bundle of Joy Fund. The organization helps cover the costs of IVF for families in need. Since its inception in 2015, the foundation has disbursed more than $2 million for the cause and it has helped welcome more than 110 lives in the world.
The couple has also been actively involved in spreading awareness about the IVF. Ahead of the NIAW, they even appeared on the “Today Show” on April 22 to talk about it.
Later, a reporter asked Busch about his feelings on turning 40 and if the number bothered him at all. The No. 8 driver confessed to 40 being an old number.
“40 being a number seems like an old number, but thankfully I don’t feel 40, so at least there’s a positive in that,” Busch said, via Frontstretch.

Celebrating His Birthday Week With Short Vacation
Speaking about the celebrations, Busch and his wife took a short vacation in his break week but did not have any grand party on the day itself.
When Busch reflected on his NASCAR career and life during his birthday week, he did not think much of it. In fact, he remembered the good old days for what they were and gathered his learnings.
On the subject of winning, the RCR driver said, “Here we are today, kind of reminiscing on that. Wanting to get back to the ways of being competitive and up front, and winning races.”
He then mentioned his contemporary, Denny Hamlin, another senior driver in NASCAR, who continues to shine even today.
“Denny has done a great job. He’s 43-44, he’s still winning races, winning them at more than one clip a year, so that’s admirable and something that I wanna do.”
In the end, Busch cooled down the questions about his age by saying, “It’s just 40, it’s just a number.”
