The band took to social platforms this past weekend to announce the cancellation of their Saturday (April 26) performance in Buenos Aires, Argentina due to Meine’s illness.
“The Scorpions regret to announce that they are unable to perform in Buenos Aires tonight,” the band stated. “Klaus has developed a virus along with suspected laryngitis and is sadly unable to sing. The band extends deep apologies to all their cherished fans in Argentina and are very disappointed about the inability to perform.”

Regrettably, the band has been compelled to cancel another performance as Meine’s situation has not improved, leading them to again announce the cancellation of their set at the Monsters of Rock festival in Bogotá, Colombia.
“Klaus has not yet recovered from the virus and respiratory infection that led to the prior cancellation in Buenos Aires and is regrettably still unable to sing,” a statement indicated. “The band offers heartfelt apologies to all their dedicated fans in Colombia and are extremely disappointed to miss out on performing in one of their favorite countries.”
In both situations, the band expressed their commitment to “make every effort to return” to Argentina and Colombia.
The Scorpions kicked off their 60th anniversary tour in March, starting with a run of shows in Mexico before heading to Brazil and Chile. The concerts were originally set to begin in February with a Las Vegas residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood. However, those dates were delayed due to drummer Mikkey Dee’s ongoing recovery from a sepsis diagnosis.
“We regret to announce that due to Mikkey Dee’s continued recovery from his recent hospitalization, we have decided to postpone our Coming Home to Las Vegas Residency to August 2025,” the Scorpions stated at that time. “The health and well-being of our brother is our top priority. We wish Mikkey a complete and swift recovery and look forward to rocking with everyone soon!”
At present, Scorpions are set to continue their tour with a performance in Ecuador on May 3, followed shortly by shows in Mexico. A series of European dates in June and July will lead up to their return to the U.S. in August, where they are expected to perform their postponed Las Vegas residency.
