The District Attorney’s Office of Fulton County has sought to have Young Thug’s probation annulled, as stated in a motion submitted on Wednesday (April 3).
Thug, known officially as Jeffery Williams, concluded a prolonged criminal trial in October 2024 when he admitted guilt to the charges brought against him. The prosecution, which relied on Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) legislation, alleged that Thug and his purported YSL gang were involved in various heinous activities, including murders, carjackings, drug trafficking, and numerous other offenses.
Upon the trial’s conclusion, Thug received a sentence of 40 years, with five years to be served in prison and the remainder commuted for time served. Consequently, he was assigned 15 years of probation, with an additional 20 years potentially commuted upon successful completion.

However, a recent motion has been lodged in Fulton County Superior Court, prompting the State of Georgia to ask Whitaker to revoke Thug’s probation, claiming that his “ongoing presence in the community under probationary supervision poses a significant and immediate risk to public safety and disrupts the rule of law.”
According to Channel 2 Action News, the central issue of the filing revolves around what prosecutors have characterized as “growing threats and witness intimidation.” They indicate that Fulton County Investigator Marissa Viverito is in the middle of testifying in a “multi-defendant gang murder preliminary hearing,” where the Court has instructed that witnesses not be visible on television while giving their testimony. Nonetheless, an individual on social media posted a picture of Viverito with a remark that read, “She doesn’t want to be displayed on screen? Well, here she is.”
On Tuesday (April 1), Thug is said to have shared a now-deleted repost of that image, adding a caption asserting, “Marissa Viverito is the biggest liar in the DA’s office.” The document claims that the post “rapidly gained traction,” accumulating over two million views and leading to “direct threats against Investigator Viverito and her family.”
The motion further asserts that following Thug’s post, the residential addresses of Viverito and her parents were circulated online, with one publication allegedly sharing an image of Viverito’s mother’s residence and stating, “If the hate is genuinely real then pull up on her mama crib.” Another post is reportedly said to have threatened the assassination of District Attorney Fani Willis.
“The shift from targeting a testifying witness to issuing a direct death threat against the elected District Attorney of Fulton County constitutes a serious and unparalleled assault on the justice system,” the motion declared.
In reaction to the request for revocation of probation, Thug released a statement on his X (formerly Twitter), asserting, “I don’t make threats to people; I’m a good person, I would never approve of anyone threatening anyone or take part in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love.”
The motion claims that this conduct represents a “calculated strategy of intimidation, harassment, and disinformation intended to disrupt the legal proceedings,” and has asked the Court to take “prompt and decisive measures by revoking the Defendant’s probation and remanding him into custody without delay.”
As of now, no hearing date has been established. In the meantime, Thug is set to make his first performance post-trial in June during Chicago’s Summer Smash Festival.
