The American musician Philip Glass will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 25th annual World Soundtrack Awards on October 15, as well as at a film music concert closing the Film Fest Gent’s three-day Film Music Days 2025 on October 16 in Ghent, Belgium.
Past winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award include Marvin Hamlisch, John Barry, Giorgio Moroder, and Elliot Goldenthal. (See the full list of previous winners below.)
The tribute will occur at the film music concert “Minimalism in Motion: Glass, Nyman and Beyond,” taking place at Muziekcentrum De Bijloke in Ghent. The Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé, will perform a selection of Glass’s compositions, who previously presented the award to Glass in New York.
