Nite unleashes an epic darkness with “Price For Heaven”
With ‘Price For Heaven’, US band Nite enters the dark arena of synth pop and dark wave, bringing back memories of bands like The Bravery or Dúné for me. This track, which skilfully oscillates between nostalgic echoes and innovative soundscapes, demonstrates Nite’s potential to prove themselves in the world of electronic music.
The mood of the song is consistently dark, almost epic and powerful. Particularly noteworthy is the bridge of the song, which introduces a fascinating new sound colour to the song, proving that Nite are capable of creating surprising and gripping moments. The synthesisers are perfectly dosed and support the overall picture, but could be a little more dominant for my taste.
The vocals are pleasant and blend seamlessly into the dark fabric of the track, gaining depth and tension through different dimensions.
The only criticism is the use of the saxophone towards the end of the track, which might irritate some listeners as it interrupts the otherwise homogeneous flow of sound. A more subtle integration or an alternative choice of sound might have fitted better into the overall concept. The saxophone is more of a ‘love it or leave it’ instrument.

Lyrics of “Nite – Price For Heaven”
All our lives, we are bound
What’s the price you pay for heaven?
Break our bones, slide through chains
What’s the price you pay for heaven?
Life’s a screen life won’t change
Can I bleed like you? Do we bleed the same?
It will amount to nothing
Take your drug, fake an empire
Fill the hole, fill those empty eyes
It will amount to nothing
It will amount to nothing
All our lives, we are bound
What’s the price you pay for heaven?
Break our bones, slide through chains
What’s the price you pay for heaven?
Carry me to a place where we can be free
All our lives, slide through chains
What’s the price you pay for heaven?
Praise the mud, fail your flesh and fade
Fade away with all the plans we’ve made
It will amount to nothing
