This week, Rolling Stone unveiled its annual The Future 25 list, spotlighting two Latin artists: emerging Música Mexicana star Ivan Cornejo and Puerto Rican newcomer Chuwi. Chosen from a diverse range of genres and regions, these artists were highlighted by the RS team, “showcasing the next generation of musicians who are influencing the sounds of the future.” Cornejo—who graced the cover of Billboard’s Genre Now last January—featured on his own Future of Music cover and performed as the headliner at Rolling Stone’s Future of Music showcase during SXSW earlier this month. “I’m truly honored to represent música mexicana as the face of Rolling Stone,” he shared on social media.
