Faith No More‘s 1995 deep cut “Take This Bottle” made its way into the live sets of multi-platinum outlaw country star Cody Jinks late last year, and now his cover has made it to the studio. His rendition on that already country-leaning ballad finds him joined by Pearl Aday, daughter of rock legend Meatloaf, and wife of Anthrax, Mr. Bungle, etc. guitarist Scott Ian.
According to Ian, Pearl kept the song a secret from him, as he stated on social media today (March 22nd):
“Woke up in NYC to Cody Jinks and Pearl singing one of my favorite Faith No More songs! They’ve been keeping this a secret for a long time! Cody’s new album Change The Game is out today! Get it and check out track 4 – batting cleanup, Take This Bottle!”
As mentioned by Ian, the song appears on Jinks‘ new album “Change The Game“.
