Within two weeks of its release, Morgan Wallen‘s “Love Somebody” has dethroned Shaboozey‘s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” from the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
“Love Somebody” marks Wallen’s third No. 1 song on Hot 100. The previous chart toppers are Post Malone‘s “I Had Some Help,” featuring Wallen, and “Last Night.”
The track is the second single from his upcoming fourth studio album, and follows the lead single “Lies Lies Lies.”
With “Love Somebody,” the East Tennessean singer-songwriter offers a candid glimpse at the difficulties of finding someone “Who ain’t hypnotized / By dollar signs and blindin’ lights,” as he searches for authenticity.
“Love Somebody” debuted atop Billboard Hot 100 with 31.1 million official streams, 15.2 million radio airplay audience impressions and 17,000 sold in the U.S. during the tracking week ending on October 24.
The track, released on October 18, also leads on the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts.
Until last week, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” had been extending its lead for the longest reign at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 2024. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” topped the chart for fifteen weeks.
“A Bar Song” dips to No. 2 on the latest chart, dated November 2, and is followed by Billie Eilish‘s “Birds of a Feather” at No. 3, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars‘ “Die With a Smile” at No. 4, and Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso” at No. 5.
The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data.
