A court hearing over the alleged chair throwing incident involving Morgan Wallen, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday (August 15), has been postponed to December 12.
The postponement comes following the judge granting a continuance in the case.
Wallen was arrested in Nashville on April 7 in connection with the chair-throwing incident. According to the charges, a chair thrown by the singer landed near two Metro Nashville Police Department officers standing on the street below Chief’s on Broadway.
Police reviewed security footage of the rooftop of the bar and saw Wallen lunge forward while throwing an object from the sixth story rooftop. The object can be seen flying from the top of the building, arrest records showed.
Wallen was charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
At an initial court hearing early May, when Wallen’s attorney Worrick Robinson appeared on behalf of the star, a Nashville judge set August 15th as the fresh date for hearing the case.
“I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” Wallen said in a statement after the incident. “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”
Wallen, who will be wrapping his current tour on October 19, is expected to attend the court hearing on December 12, the new date set by the judge.
