UK artist Martha Skye Murphy has released some EPs over the last few years, and now she’s announced her debut full-length album, Um, due out on June 14 via AD 93. She co-produced it with Ethan P. Flynn, and it features Claire Rousay on “Forgive,” Roy Montgomery on “Need,” Alex McKenzie of Caroline, and Laurie Nankivell of Squid. You can see the cover art and tracklist below.
“I wanted the album to feel like this constant tension between being in a very intimate domestic space, and then propelled into a far stranger environment that is difficult to situate,” Martha says. “I want people to feel disoriented, erotically charged by the intimacy of a bedroom, then catapulted into a desert.”
The first single is haunting art pop track “Pick Yourself Up,” which she calls “an ode to mistrust, Fred & Ginger, and clear days.” Watch the video below.
