Lifetime Shares Trailer For ‘The Judd Family: Truth Be Told’ Documentary
Lifetime recently released a new trailer for the four-part documentary series The Judd Family: Truth Be Told which is set to premiere Mother’s Day Weekend from May 10 – 11 at 8pm ET/PT.
According to an announcement, the docuseries, directed by Alexandra Dean, profiles one of the greatest country music families of the modern era and the late Naomi Judd‘s complicated relationship with her daughters, Wynonna and Ashley.
The documentary “explores the complex mother-daughter dynamics and intergenerational trauma as seen through the eyes of the Judd Family,” according to the press release.
The trailer shows Naomi and Wynonna together in the early days of The Judds‘ career. Naomi smiles at Wynonna and says, “You love me?” as Wynonna nods. “Are you ever going to leave me?” Naomi asks, as Wynonna grins and shakes her head no.
“I was so proud of their success,” Ashley Judd is seen saying in the trailer, which also features comments from The Judds’ fellow country star Reba McEntire. “She had no idea what I went through as a child,” Ashley says of Naomi at one point.
Later Wynonna says, “It’s a blessing and a curse to be that close to your mother.”
The documentary features interviews with Ashley, Wynonna, close family members and friends as well as rare photos, home videos, unreleased songs, and audio.
