Kendrick Lamar & SZA’s ‘Luther’ Remains Atop Billboard Hot 100 For Seventh Straight Week
Kendrick Lamar and SZA‘s “Luther” has extended its reign on the Billboard Hot 100, staying on top of the chart for a seventh straight week.
The single, whose title shouts out late R&B crooner Luther Vandross, who is sampled on the track, is Lamar’s sixth No. 1 on the list and SZA’s third. For both the artists, the song marks their longest career Hot 100 reign.
“Luther” is the longest Hot 100 topper for a rap hit since 24kGoldn‘s “Mood,” featuring iann dior, led for eight weeks in 2020-21. Prior to that, Roddy Ricch‘s “The Box” stayed atop the chart for 11 weeks in 2020.
Additionally, “Luther” tops the Radio Songs chart, earning Lamar his third No. 1 and SZA her second on the all-format airplay ranking.
According to Luminate, “Luther” totaled 61 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 5% week-over-week), 24.4 million official streams (down 7%) and 2,000 sold (down 13%) in the U.S. in the track week March 28-April 3.
