Joe Satriani recently released a new song, “Big Bad Moon,” from the upcoming G3 Reunion Live album.
The G3 Reunion Live record from the Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai, will arrive on January 31st via earMUSIC.
“Reuniting with Eric and Steve, commemorating the very first G3 tour of ’96, was nothing short of genius. They were the first two guitarists I called when planning G3’s maiden voyage, so this reunion was a confirmation of our special connection,” Satriani said.
The G3 trio of Satriani, Johnson, and Vai, coming together after several years, had a sold-out U.S. tour in 2024. The three first shared a stage way back in 1996.
The live album will feature full sets from each guitarist and include hits such as Satriani’s “Sahara,” Johnson’s “Cliffs of Dover,” and Vai’s “For the Love of God,” along with a thrilling encore jam of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton covers.
The project also offers “new” live albums from each artist, plus a collaborative supergroup LP that will be available in multiple formats.
