Like most games, Butler started well for the Warriors. He had a driving layup at 8:16, when he dribbled past two players and drove to the rim. He scored six points in the first quarter and made two free throws. The former Miami Heat star kept Dillon Brooks quiet in the first quarter by playing tight defense.
Butler had his usual points in the second quarter and aggressively drove into the lane. He’s an able scorer inside the paint, and fans saw glimpses of it in the second quarter.
In the meantime, he put in a sensational and-one with 0.6 seconds to go as ‘Playoffs Jimmy’ took center stage. He finished the half with 12 points, setting the pace for the next half.
Butler struck another ridiculous mid-range shot and received an and-one in the third quarter. He distributed the ball well and always looked for an open teammate throughout the game.
Yet, the forward missed some crucial three-pointers, which dampened the Warriors’ chance of a comeback. The duo of Butler and Curry missed some open threes, which further hurt the team.
Butler ended the game with 27 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Those numbers are not bad, but failing to take control of the game in the fourth quarter cost the team their 3-1 lead.
