Iggy Pop praised Tyler, The Creator as a “genuine, old-school talent” in his latest BBC 6 Music radio show episode.
On his show “Iggy Confidential,” the legend remembered the time he did a “day’s work” with the rapper, when they both featured in a Gucci campaign with A$AP Rocky.
Tyler seemed to have made a lasting impression on Iggy Pop, as he said, “I’ve always liked Tyler. I did a day’s work with him once, and he would do what it takes to get attention. He’s also a genuine all-around song, dance, writer talent — a genuine old-school talent with a new-school approach.”
Meanwhile, Tyler released his eighth album, Chromakopia, on October 28, 2024. It became his third consecutive record to top the Billboard 200, while the opening track “St. Chroma” became his first to reach No. 1 on Billboard‘s Streaming Songs chart.
In support of the album, Tyler will embark on the Chromakopia: The World Tour (2025).
