System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian appears on a newly released track titled “Incinerator” from composer Bear McCreary (‘God Of War‘, ‘The Walking Dead‘), who wrote the track alongside his brother Brendan for his upcoming rock concept album, “The Singularity“. Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, ex-Testament) sat in on drums on this track.
A lengthy list of guests have signed on for that album, including members of Guns N’ Roses, Slipknot, Soundgarden, Anthrax, Meshuggah and more. McCreary, who worked with Tankian in the past on the ‘Godzilla: King Of Monsters‘ soundtrack, commented of this latest meeting of the minds:
“Once I heard Serj‘s searing vocals, I knew immediately that ‘Incinerator‘ would be the first song on the album, acting like a warning that a massive, aggressive, and emotional journey lay ahead.”
Tankian added, “When I got the music, when I got this song specifically, I was blown away. It’s explosive.”
A May 10th release date has been scheduled for the album, while a graphic novel that expands upon the opus will arrive on May 08th. A May 12th show at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA has also been booked.
