HAIM Share New Single ‘Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out’

HAIM recently released a new single, “Everybody’s trying to figure me out,” from their upcoming, not yet announced fourth album.

The song from the Este, Dannielle and Alana trio, which displays driving rock influence, is a contemplative exploration about feeling misunderstood.

“Oh my God/ I feel like I might live inside of everyone’s thoughts/ I wish I could slow the tape down to the point where everything stops/ Everybody’s tryna figure me out now/ And I don’t know why,” Danielle sings in low register in the pricklier new offering.

“Renters’ rights, squatters’ rights/ I’ll be the gatekeeper for the rest of my life/I don’t want your charity/ Spend a night in the cold if it keeps me free,” she sings later.

“This next song we will be releasing is my favorite song we’ve written in the last couple years,” Danielle shared via Instagram. “Writing it has gotten me through some hard times, and we felt this might be of some use to get our vibes right for this summer!”

HAIM also teased the song with a reel, captioning it “single girl summer.”
