Georgia Tech stuns No. 4 Miami
A homecoming to remember. Georgia Tech upset No. 4 Miami, 28-23, to snap the Hurricanes’ undefeated streak and become bowl eligible.
The Yellow Jackets raced out of the gate, literally. On the second play of scrimmage, running back Jamal Haynes broke out for a 65-yard run, resulting in a rushing touchdown two plays later.
PERFECTION: Here are the remaining undefeated FBS teams this season
Georgia Tech (6-4 overall, 4-3 ACC) led Miami at halftime, 14-10. However, the Hurricanes have been the definition of a second half team this season, outscoring opponents by 158 points after the break.
But Georgia Tech kept up stride-for-stride with Miami, as each team scored two touchdowns in the second half. The Yellow Jackets led 28-23 with two minutes left.
And eventually, Georgia Tech put the final nail in the coffin after forcing Miami quarterback and Heisman contender Cam Ward to fumble with the game on the line.

Forcing three turnovers on downs earlier in the contest, the forced fumble capped a high-level defensive performance for Georgia Tech. They held college football’s highest scoring team to 23 points.
The loss knocks Miami (9-1, 5-1) off the top of ACC standings and opens the door for other conference teams to challenge.
