FOX Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews was left in a state of awe after watching the confetti swirl around in the air following the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LIX victory.
The Eagles got revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Superdome on Sunday, avenging their Super Bowl defeat two years prior to the defending champions 40-22 in emphatic fashion. Philadelphia was comfortably the better team, outclassing Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP, which led to him chatting to Andrews after the game in New Orleans in what was an awkward interview in the eyes of some NFL fans. The Eagles star went 17 of 22, throwing for 221, two touchdowns and an interception.
He also managed to add 72 yards on the ground on 11 carries, scoring a rushing touchdown after the Eagles pulled out their vaunted ‘tush push’ goalline play.
However, prior to speaking to the winning quarterback, Andrews found herself lost in the moment alongside her close friend Charissa Thompson. The pair met inside the Superdome with confetti swirling around the stadium, with Andrews posting a story on her Instagram of the moment, captioning it: “I can’t calm down!!!”
The “calm down” post-Super Bowl comment was a reference to the ‘Calm Down’ podcast Andrews and Thompson host. And Andrews and Thompson also address the booing of music sensation Taylor Swift inside the Superdome during the clash between the Eagles and the Chiefs.
Taylor Swift booed by Super Bowl fans
Swift, who has been dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce since 2023, was booed resoundingly by Eagles fans after being shown on the jumbotron. While she laughed off the taunts from the Eagles supporters, Andrews sounded off on those fans who booed Swift.
Speaking on their podcast, Andrews said: “I feel bad for the most famous, amazing woman in the world who f—— gets booed at the Super Bowl. Get out of here. I love her. I love her.”
However, that prompted Thompson to defend some of the booing Eagles fans, given Swift’s relationship with Kelce. Thompson replied: “I love the Eagles fandom. Eagles are proud fans. They are gonna hate her on that day because you’re rooting for your team.
“Taylor, we all know Erin and I’s affinity for her. She handles everything so well. And so does Travis. He handles this so well. They both handle things with so much grace.”
