After years of friendship, Elton John and Brandi Carlile have joined forces for a fresh collaborative album titled Who Believes in Angels?, which they recorded over a span of 20 days beginning in October 2023. This collection was released under Interscope Records on Friday (April 4).
The duo composed and brought the album to life with John’s longtime collaborator Bernie Taupin and producer Andrew Watt. The tracklist of Who Believes in Angels? includes earlier singles “Swing for the Fences,” “Never Too Late,” along with the title track.
“As I wrapped up my Farewell tour, I realized I wanted to collaborate on a new album with Brandi, aiming to explore something distinct from my previous work,” John previously shared with Billboard regarding the project. “Brandi has always inspired me; our bond is incredibly strong, and I sensed we could create something truly extraordinary. The process of producing Who Believes in Angels? was tough, and I grappled with a lot of self-doubt, but with Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt by my side, we managed to write 10 songs in just 20 days, making it one of the most joyful and exhilarating experiences of my life.”
