Hyperska artist Eichlers (aka Russ “Ike” Wood) is set to follow his 2022 album for Bad Time Records My Checkered Future (and the 2023 companion mixtape Days Before MCF) with a new self-released album, IKE WORLD, on June 14. The first single is “So Tru Bestie,” a fast-paced, sugar-coated song that Ike’s bio compares to both New Found Glory and 100 gecs, and if you can picture the exact middle ground between those two bands, it would probably sound a lot like this song does.
“‘So Tru Bestie’ was kinda inspired by my dog, Topo,” Ike tells us. “Overall, IKE WORLD sees me processing big changes in my life and mindset, but this song is a tribute to the unbridled joy and hope that a best friend / significant other can bring. Even on the worst days, there’s always someone / something in your life who can bring you back up and inspire your world to keep on spinning.”
We’re premiering the video (shot by Omnigone’s Adam Davis) and you can check that out below. Eichlers also has upcoming tour dates (including a run with Half Past Two) and those are listed below too.
