Ed Sheeran is gearing up for his next adventure, announcing on Wednesday (March 19) that his upcoming album and its lead single — a preview of which he also shared on Instagram — are set for release.
In a video clip, Sheeran is seen enjoying time in the studio with his producer, Ilya Salmanzadeh, as they listen to an unreleased track titled “Azizam.” The English singer-songwriter radiates excitement, singing and dancing enthusiastically, moving around the room with a bounce in his step.
“Sheeran sings, “And if love’s just a game, come and play,” over a lively dance rhythm in the track. “Azizam/ Meet me on the floor tonight/ Show me how to move like the water/ In between the dancing lights/ Be my, be my Azizam.”

The artist captioned the clip with, “Album complete. Single coming soon. My excitement is evident!”
This update follows just days after Sheeran gave “Azizam” its live premiere during a surprise show on the streets of New Orleans. Accompanied by The Soul Rebels brass band, the star carried his own speaker as a crowd of pedestrians gathered around.
The New Orleans event was one of several unexpected performances Sheeran has arranged recently, with the “Shape of You” singer most recently appearing at an Irish pub in Boston for an unplanned St. Patrick’s Day concert. Prior to that, he performed at Tootsies in Nashville, entertaining an unsuspecting audience.
Sheeran has not released an album since the 2023 record Autumn Variations, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. He is currently on a break from his extensive Mathematics Tour, which is set to resume in late April in Qatar.
