Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan recently released three new songs, all of which feature special guest stars.
“All Turning Loose” featuring Lee Ving and “My Name is Bob” featuring Joey Shithead will appear on an exclusive seven-inch. The last of the singles is a live performance of David Bowie‘s “Heroes,” which McKagan had previously covered as a studio single, with Steve Jones of Sex Pistols fame.
“‘All Turning Loose’ seems to highlight those times in life that you just wanna pull your f—in’ hair out! Lee Ving adds his pure brilliance…and it makes me so happy,” McKagan explained in a statement, adding of the record’s flipside, “‘My Name Is Bob’ is a fun rocker that seemed to write itself one day. Having Joey Shithead be my compatriot along for the ride is one of the best things that could ever happen.”
“Hey it was great to be invited to sing on My Name is Bob,” Shithead added. “It’s a great story about how messed up life can be for the average person. Duff hit the nail directly on the head with this one. My name is Joe but I’m glad to help kick ass in the name of Bob! Ya Hey!!!”
Meanwhile, McKagan recently announced the U.S. leg of his Lighthouse Tour ’24 in support of his critically acclaimed latest studio record, Lighthouse. The trek kicks off on November 4th at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club and ends on November 20th at Seattle’s Showbox.
