Declan Rice has taken to social media following Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Ipswich Town. The 26-year-old midfielder led Mikel Arteta’s side to victory at Portman Road on Sunday afternoon, extending the Gunners’ 11-game unbeaten streak.
Leandro Trossard broke the deadlock inside the opening quarter of an hour before Gabriel Martinelli doubled Arsenal’s lead. Then, midway through the second half, the former Brighton winger netted his second of the game.
Ethan Nwaneri eventually put the fourth and final nail in the Tractor Boys coffin, wrapping up three crucial points in the race for Champions League qualification. After the game, Rice marked the victory with a celebratory post on his Instagram story.
Showing his true colours as a leader in the squad, the former West Ham captain captioned a picture from the clash: “Important win! Keeping the momentum building [arm flexed emoji].”
In his next Instagram story, Rice snapped a picture of a guitar signed by Ed Sheeran, who owns a minority stake in Ipswich. The Arsenal midfielder said: “Thank you for the guitar [red heart and smiling emoji].”

Martinelli also marked the win over Ipswich with celebratory posts. The Brazil international, who continued his hot streak in front of goal, said: “50 goals for the Arsenal. Proud [red heart emoji].”
Speaking to reporters after the game, Arteta heaped praise on the forward. The Gunners boss said: “That’s great – I think he’s in very good form at the moment, full of confidence, looks really sharp as well and he’s arriving in very dangerous situations with very good timing which is good to see.”
On the performance at Portman Road, Arteta said: “We’re really happy with the performance. I think the first 35 minutes is one of the best 35 minutes we’ve played this season, at the back of the game in Madrid, and we scored two goals.
“We could have scored three or four to be fair. We really dominated the game, very high intensity and understanding what we had to do today to win here.
“When they got the red card, the context of the game changed and we were in control, scored another two goals and made certain rotations. So overall a very positive afternoon.”
On keeping his players fresh for a difficult clash against Crystal Palace, Arteta said: “We have to somehow put 11 players out there and have four or five changes. Let’s see how they recover in the next few days.
“The good thing is they are willing to play because they like the rhythm as well. We are so used to that rhythm every three days that the boys are demanding and then we don’t have a game on the weekend.
“We have a gap there, so let’s see how we get there on Wednesday…”
