It’s not every day a sound succeeds in being on one side a romp of theatrical sounds and prose, as well as an absolute banger of a track. Declan McKenna has created a soundscape that invites you to almost immediately Google the lyrics—”Well, of course I never mean what I say, I’ve just got a hook to land.” It is such a fun line I kept saying it to myself for hours after. “Champagne” is a fun, dramatic bop that hits all our indie drumsets.
