Czarina about “Exoskeleto”

Galicia, Spain-based New Yorker and Progressive Darkwave and Dark Ethereal artist, CZARINA (styled as C Z A R I N A on all plat­forms) unveils high-octane Gothic Sci-Fi and Dark Pop track entitled Exoskeleto via German goth­ic label darkTunes Music Group. Exploring themes of pain, death, rebirth, retri­bu­tion and gen­er­at­ing a new kind of anom­al­ous power and strength for anoth­er round in the battle aren­as of life, the track first surges omin­ously with tense sound­scapes that harken both eth­er­e­al and extra­ter­restri­al life­forms before drop­ping into massive beats, acid basses, giant waves of high-voltage metal­lic machinery and mys­ti­fy­ing goth­ic choir chants.

CZARINA first laments at her tri­als before com­bust­ing into her sig­na­ture power­ful, tan­tric wails seeth­ing with emo­tion, while sum­mon­ing a cer­tain bio­mech­an­ic­al and exo­skelet­al astral anom­aly. The track man­euvers into an arpeg­gia­ted and orches­tral sec­tion with a haunt­ing full choir and cres­cendoes into one final blast before end­ing in a dra­mat­ic, somber resolve. Exoskeleto reveals CZARINA’s next stages in her own artist­ic evol­u­tion that com­bines all of her sig­na­ture heavy-hit­ting yet eth­er­e­al ele­ments with her pas­sion in fus­ing synth, elec­tron­ic and organ­ic sounds, orches­tral arrange­ments, dynam­ic com­pos­i­tions, for­mid­able vocal prowess, and art­ful lyr­i­cism. Exoskeleto is the new single from CZARINA’s upcom­ing third record due Fall of 2024.

The track was writ­ten, pro­duced, and recor­ded by the artist at her sea­side home along Costa Da Morte in Galicia, Spain which she often refers to as her muse and inspir­a­tion for all her cre­at­ive work since mov­ing dur­ing the Covid-19 pan­dem­ic. She leans on Von Hertzog (VHxRR, Information Society) of The Social Club (Reading, PA) who served as co-pro­du­cer, mix­ing and mas­ter­ing engin­eer on the track, and who has been provid­ing addi­tion­al pro­duc­tion input to har­ness and fin­esse the very vast dynam­ics and exper­i­ment­al nature of CZARINA’s sound since they star­ted work­ing togeth­er in her sopho­more record, Arcana. Exoskeleto the music video was cre­ated by CZARINA and her hus­band and cre­at­ive part­ner DeadlyKawaii, under their two-man pro­duc­tion house called The Kitsunés. Exoskeleto will be avail­able on Bandcamp and all digit­al and stream­ing plat­forms on March 29.

The single release for Exoskeleto also includes CZARINA’s cov­er of A Perfect Circle’s incen­di­ary clas­sic, The Outsider. CZARINA is Vero Faye Kitsuné, a Filipino-American synth and elec­tron­ic rock musi­cian, pro­du­cer, song­writer, multi-instru­ment­al­ist, film­maker, visu­al artist, and an esteemed long-time cre­at­ive dir­ect­or and fash­ion industry vet­er­an ori­gin­ally from New York City. Known for her multi-dis­cip­lin­ary approach, CZARINA com­bines tran­scend­ent­al­ism and anim­ist mys­ti­cism with her love for futur­ist cul­ture, bio­mech­an­ics, art and ancient his­tory, myth­o­logy, folk­lore, and her Budo mar­tial arts training.
