Vocalist Connie Sgarbossa has seemingly followed through on her previously communicated intentions to leave SeeYouSpaceCowboy. In a post shared on her Instagram stories today, January 17th, she discussed her time in the sasscore band in the past-tense, stating:
“I appreciate everying reach out
SYSC meant the world to me too
I haven’t fully processed what’s going on but I am alive as of now”
Sgarbossa‘s apparent exit comes in the wake of the band experiencing a wave of backlash on social media this week in light of accepting a tour with Dance Gavin Dance. Given that band’s own history with sexual misconduct allegations, and SeeYouSpaceCowboy having previously booted Roman Candle from a tour when the latter outfit was facing domestic violence/sexual assault allegations of their own, a vocal contingent of SYSC fans felt that this latest tour was a hypocritical compromise of the band’s ideals.
It seems Sgarbossa agreed, responding to the backlash on social media, Sgarbossa stated on X on January 14th in a pair of since deleted posts:
“Believe me, there is no part of me as an individual that backs this either”
“Probably gonna be leaving SYSC due to a lack of urgency on issues I have been bringing up for a while now. It was fun while it lasted.”
In light of her stance, some social media feuding instigated by Falling In Reverse vocalist Ronnie Radke soon followed.
