Coheed and Cambria recently released a new song, “Blind Side Sonny,” providing a glimpse into the band’s next full body of work, which will be a follow-up to 2022’s Vaxis Act II: A Window Of The Waking Mind.
The song, which arrived along with a video, is billed as the band’s most aggressive to date. It sees the introduction of Sonny, a new villain in the group’s “The Amory Wars/Vaxis” universe.
The song clocks just over two minutes and 20 seconds. According to a press release from Claudio Sanchez, “The song is above revenge. What may seem like an innocent choice to someone could be the breeding ground of another’s malicious misunderstanding. Perception can be your worst enemy.”
The Max Moore-directed visual sees Sonny making an appearance in the flesh. The zombified figure lurks nearby as Coheed tear through the song to one of the more exuberant audiences one could see in a performance video, before slowly seeping into the crowd.
