
Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets, created by ABC News Studios, received a nomination for outstanding arts, culture or entertainment coverage at the 2025 News & Documentary Emmy Awards. The announcements of the nominations took place on Thursday (May 1).
Springsteen has garnered three Primetime Emmys nominations, but has not yet secured a win. His nominations include outstanding variety, music or comedy special for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (HBO, 2001), outstanding special class – short-form live action entertainment program for Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band Super Bowl Halftime Show (NBC, 2009), and outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) for Springsteen on Broadway (Netflix, 2019).
The artist has claimed 20 Grammys along with an Oscar. He was awarded a Special (honorary) Tony Award in 2018 recognizing his production Springsteen on Broadway, which ran in 2017-18 and returned in 2021.

The 46th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards celebrate programming that first aired in the calendar year 2024. Over 2,200 entries were evaluated by a panel of more than 980 peer professionals from the television and streaming/digital media news and documentary sector.
The 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards ceremony will take place live at the Palladium Times Square in New York City, with a live stream available on The Emmys website and through The Emmys apps for iOS, tvOS, Android, FireTV, and Roku.
The ceremonies for the awards will occur in two distinct events:
- News ceremony – Wednesday, June 25, at 7 p.m. ET
- Documentary ceremony – Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. ET
