Britton Moore ventured into new territory during The Voice Season 27 Knockouts — and emerged victorious.
The 21-year-old Texan, recognized for his pop-influenced vocals, reconnected with his country roots on Monday’s (April 7) episode, performing a soaring, heartfelt version of Zac Brown Band’s “Free,” which garnered significant acclaim from all four coaches.
Moore, who originally captivated four coaches during the Blind Auditions with Coldplay’s “Yellow,” showcased exceptional control and tone, securing the Knockout victory against teammate Ari Camille.

“There’s this youthful beauty and this stunning clear tone,” remarked coach Michael Bublé after Moore’s performance. John Legend added, “It was pitch-perfect, and you also made some excellent stylistic choices.”

Coach Kelsea Ballerini was so taken by his precision that she joked, “Every note is so sharp and flawless, it’s almost as if you’re auto-tuned.” Legend chimed in with laughter, dubbing Moore “God-o-tuned.”
Coach Adam Levine, who had to make the final decision between Moore and Camille, did not hold back in his compliments. “You sing with such intensity and passion in everything you perform,” he told Moore, ultimately naming him the round’s winner.
In a heartwarming turn of events, John Legend used his only steal of the round to retain Camille in the competition, bringing her back into his team for the Playoffs.
Moore’s Knockout performance marked his debut in country music on the show, although he grew up in Texas with a deep appreciation for the genre. His take on “Free,” originally featured on The Foundation in 2008 by Zac Brown Band, honored the original while integrating his smooth vocals and soft grit.
The young talent has wowed audiences week after week this season. During the Battles, he gave a haunting rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep,” with Bublé exclaiming, “You nailed that top note!” and Legend describing his vocal prowess as “astonishing.”
