Bill Belichick is widely considered to be the greatest coach in NFL history. He spent 24 years as the head coach of the New England Patriots, leading them to six Super Bowl titles and nine appearances, both of which are NFL records.
He mutually agreed to part ways with the franchise following the 2023 season and spent last year away from coaching. It marked Belichick’s first year away from the sidelines since he finished playing college football for the Wesleyan Cardinals in 1974. He is set to return to coaching this season, as he will take over as head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels — his first-ever coaching gig at the collegiate level.
The team was in talks to be featured on the show “Hard Knocks,” but a recent report suggests that the show was nixed due in large part to Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.

Bill Belichick’s Girlfriend Reportedly Contributed To ‘Hard Knocks’ Cancellation
Belichick has been in the news plenty due to the nature of his relationship with 24-year-old Hudson. The couple made headlines after she interrupted the 73-year-old coach’s interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” after he was asked about how they met. Furthermore, there were reports that she was interfering throughout the interview, causing the production to be delayed by over 30 minutes.
On Wednesday, they were in the news once again as it was reported that Hudson was a major reason why the proposed “Hard Knocks” season about the North Carolina Tar Heels was ultimately canceled.
“Jordon Hudson, Belichick’s girlfriend, played an instrumental role in stopping the production, related to her request to be heavily involved in the project, according to multiple industry sources briefed on the negotiations,” The Athletic reported. “In a December 2024 email to North Carolina officials, Hudson, 24, identified herself as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions.
NFL Films had a deal with UNC to follow the program for two months, and filming was scheduled to begin on March 1. However, “the conversation took a turn we were not comfortable with,” wrote Jessica Boddy, the NFL’s vice president for commercial operations and business affairs, in an email.
This has been a strange week for the coaching legend. Hudson and Belichick reportedly met on a plane in 2021 and have been in a relationship since 2023. Over the last two years, Hudson has become extremely involved in Belichick’s career, positioning herself as his manager and publicist in addition to his girlfriend.
