Ava Max is set to release her upcoming album Don’t Click Play this summer. This compilation, showcasing the lead track “Lost Your Faith,” will mark her third studio album.
On Thursday (May 1), Max revealed the album’s launch date along with the artwork. Fans of pop music can hit play on Don’t Click Play starting Aug. 22.
The album cover depicts Max amidst a triangle of flames, gripping the edges as they catch fire—possibly symbolizing the fiery-emoji feelings she anticipates her audience will experience when they do hit play. This triangle resembles the classic play button symbol.
She’s employing a clever strategy of reverse psychology for this album phase. Last month, the artist directed fans to the site DontClickPlayOnAvaMax.com, which masqueraded as an online petition but in reality teased a new track. Additionally, she posted an image of a “Don’t Click Play on Ava Max” billboard by the roadside.

Following Max’s album announcement on X on May 1, she also referenced the album reveal of her Atlantic Records colleague Ed Sheeran’s Play album, echoing his HQ account’s message from the same date; both announcements incorporated the handy play button symbol, of course.
Don’t Click Play follows last year’s Diamonds & Dancefloors (which achieved No. 34 on the Billboard 200 chart) and 2020’s Heaven & Hell (Max’s debut album, which peaked at No. 27 and featured the breakout track “Sweet But Psycho,” a Top 10 hit on the Hot 100 in 2018).
