Celebrated for their unique fusion of uplifting yet sorrowful progressive pop metal, Australia’s own Voyager has made a comeback following an unforeseen break. In a tumultuous turn of events after the band’s success at Eurovision, their upward momentum faced a surprising decline in September 2023 when frontman Danny Estrin was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
After undergoing extensive treatment since that time, the band’s future remained uncertain. They canceled all plans for international tours, and for a period, it was unclear whether Danny would be able to sing again. The overwhelming sense of heartache felt for Danny and the band was tangible, and the flood of love and support from both long-standing and new fans of Voyager offered comfort during these tough moments.
Now, Voyager is back with their new single ‘Seen Better Days’.

‘Seen Better Days’ emerges from the struggles that Danny and the band have experienced over the last year and a half, infusing the group with renewed vigour and perspective, demonstrating their unwavering strength and resolve. While the future remains uncertain, the present brings forth new music, and this track serves as a striking reminder of life’s fragility.
Regarding the song, Danny states:
“Challenging times produce somber music. It won’t be surprising to learn that ‘Seen Better Days’ narrates my personal journey through the 18 months of torment, coping with chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Acknowledging the incredible support and love I’ve received from friends, family, and fans while frequently putting on a brave face amid the dreadful experience of stage 4 cancer has been incredibly challenging, so I felt it necessary to translate this into words and music. Despite the raw vulnerability of the song, it carries an uplifting sadness and, despite its heartbreaking conclusion, offers a glimmer of hope amidst the despair… after all, life is beautiful.”
