Attila‘s new track “Wasteland” received its online premiere today, November 21st. The song finds the infamous metalcore/deathcore band teaming with Joe Cotela, vocalist of modern nü-metal outfit DED.
Attila have found themselves weathering some controversy this week, after opting to take Dealer out on tour in the new year. While Attila & Dealer have long-standing ties (Attila‘s Chris Fronzak previously signed Dealer to his label at the time a number of years ago now), Dealer‘s involvement in the trek has proven divisive.
This is due to allegations surrounding Dealer vocalist Aidan Ellaz Holmes, which have included claims of sexual assault and mental abuse. It’s been reported that legal action against Holmes over the sexual assault claim was later dropped due to a lack of evidence.
With fellow artists publicly slamming the tour, Attila‘s own checkered past resurfaced. In response to the resulting backlash surrounding the trek, Oceano, who had been booked as direct support to Attila, have seemingly broken up.
Last night (November 21st) found Oceano vocalist Adam Warren claiming he was unaware of the extent of the allegations regarding his planned tourmates until this week when the run was officially announced.
As part of one post on social media yesterday, November 20th, Warren stated the whole situation soured him on being in the metal scene, offering “The band ending thing is my call in protest to the scene being riddled with fucking creeps.”
In light of Warren‘s decisions yesterday, Oceano have now dropped off of the bill, with Attila, Dealer & Nathan James still scheduled to go ahead with the run, dates include:
